Your journey begins at approximately 8:30 AM when you'll be picked up from your Marrakech accommodation. A scenic drive takes you southward, passing through the picturesque gorges of Tahaoute and Mouly Brahim. En route, you'll pass by the charming Amazigh village of Asni before reaching Imi Oughlad at 1450m. Here, you'll meet the local Amazigh team guide and muleteer crew. Embark on a 3-hour acclimatization hike along mule tracks, winding through cornfields and Juniper trees. The hike leads you to Tizi N'Tachete, where you'll enjoy stunning views of Imlil and Azzaden valleys. A brief descent takes you to a picnic spot under the shade of juniper trees. After lunch, continue to Tiziane at 1750m for an overnight stay.
Leaving Tiziane, your journey heads southward through terraces of expansive walnut trees. Pause at Tizi Taghrghourt to relish panoramic views of the Azzaden Valley to the north. As you climb, the landscape transitions to drier terrain, characterized by reds, yellows, and greys in the exposed rocks and soils. After Amazigh the highest point of the pass, you'll descend into the D'kent Valley and pass by the unique village of Tizgi with its watermills and distinctive architecture. Spend the night in a local Amazigh house owned by a welcoming family. The day's hike spans about 6 hours.
Today's journey begins with a morning ascent to the high pass of Tizi N'tougdalt at 2700m. Starting amidst terraced fields, you'll gradually ascend out of the oasis and onto the arid mountainside. After crossing Tizi N'tougdalt, descend through a juniper forest and enjoy a shaded lunch break under ancient walnut trees along the Azzaden River. The path leads you to Tizi Oussem village at 1850m and then further up to the summer village of Tamsoult, where you'll spend the night either in tents or a refuge.
Today's trek involves a hearty climb from the Azzaden Valley to Toubkal refuge, ascending mule tracks in a zigzag fashion to reach Tizi N'Aguelzim at 3650m. Pause for a delicious picnic lunch while soaking in breathtaking views of the High Atlas Mountains. Descend southwestward to Toubkal Refuge at 3207m, where you'll spend the night. This day's hike spans around 6 hours.
An early start at 4:30 AM kicks off the day with breakfast. The ascent to Jbel Toubkal begins at 5:00 AM to beat the heat and enjoy the best summit conditions. The hike includes short breaks for hydration and refreshments. Within 3-4 hours, you'll reach the summit with captivating views of Toubkal and peaks over 4000m, along with vistas of valleys and the Sahara. Descend along the same path to the Refuge, taking time for admiration and reflection. After lunch, return to Imlil and proceed back to Marrakech, concluding your unforgettable adventure.
